Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair heavy vehicles and industrial equipment. You will interpret work orders and manuals, perform diagnostics, and adjust or replace defective parts to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires physical capability, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a garage environment, often under varied weather conditions. CDL is a plus; experience in the waste industry is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience with routine maintenance operations is required.
• Completion of college or vocational or technical training is a plus.
• A valid CDL driver license is a plus.
• Waste industry experience is a plus.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.
• Interprets work orders and technical manuals.
• Keeps equipment clean, lubricated and maintained.
• Diagnoses faults or malfunctions.
• Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems.
• Adheres to workplace health and safety and code of conduct rules.
• Undertakes training and assessment required under the training plan.
