Job summary

LRS in Joliet, IL is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to maintain, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment. You will interpret work orders and manuals and ensure equipment is clean, lubricated and ready for service.

The role requires problem-solving ability, physical stamina, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. CDL license is a plus; ASE certification is a plus; 21+ and experience with routine maintenance preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with routine maintenance operations is required.
• Waste industry experience is a plus.
• Completion of college or vocational or technical training is a plus.
• CDL driver license is a plus.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.
• Interprets work orders and technical manuals.
• Keeps equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
• Diagnoses faults or malfunctions.
• Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems.
• Obey all workplace health and safety and code of conduct workplace rules.
• Undertake the training and assessment required under the training plan.
