Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems in York, PA seeks a skilled CNC Machinist (Journeyman) to join the federal team. You will read shop prints, assemble and weld pressure vessel components, and set up/machine complex piping with precision. The role requires journeyman certification and U.S.

citizenship, with a 2nd shift schedule (2pm–10pm). The position offers a wage of $43.31 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential and union bargaining unit protections.

Qualifications

• Read shop prints, math formulas, and process sheets.
• Experience with N/C controlled machines; 1–2 years trades training.
• Ability to setup and operate tape-controlled milling and drilling machines.
• U.S. citizen and proof of Journeyman Certification.
• Experience with CNC machines, especially HBMs (SNK, Mori Seiki).

Responsibilities

• Read drawings and process sheets to plan fabrication.
• Set up fixtures, load parts, and inspect on-line.
• Maintain tooling and monitor machine control messages.
• Perform housekeeping and assist PMs on machines.
• Use precision measuring instruments and deburr tools.
