Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a carpentry professional in Alaska to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures using wood, plywood, and wallboard. The role operates in a commercial construction environment with emphasis on framing, flooring, and finish work.

Ideal candidates have significant carpentry experience, ability to read blueprints, and a valid driver's license. This on-site position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent physical activity in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years carpentry experience will be considered.
• Minimum five (5) years progressive carpentry experience.
• Must be experience in flooring and finish work.
• Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for material type and dimensions.
• Selects specified lumber or other materials; prepares layout.
• Assembles cut and shaped materials with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level.
• Erects framework, lays subflooring, and installs floors and trim.
• Covers subfloor with building paper and installs floors (hardwood/parquet/wood-strip).
• Fits prefabricated window frames, doors, weather stripping, trim, and finish hardware.
• Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete; erects scaffolding and ladders.
• Reports incidents to supervisor; performs other duties as assigned.
