Job summary

Opti Staffing in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to join a busy construction team. The ideal candidate will have completed a carpentry apprenticeship (or equivalent journey-level experience), read blueprints, and perform framing and finish work in Alaska's climate.

You will work a full-time, day-shift schedule, indoors/outdoors as required, with OSHA safety practices and opportunities for on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program, or equivalent verified journey-level experience.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and methods.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and building codes.
• Experience with framing and finish work, and/or commercial carpentry.
• Physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in Alaska.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Frame, build, and install walls, floors, roofs, trim, doors, windows.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials.
• Install materials and hardware to code and specifications.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow plans to meet client and project needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized job site and report progress.
• Coordinate with other trades and comply with OSHA safety rules.
