Job summary

Opti Staffing in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to join a busy construction team. The ideal candidate will have completed a carpentry apprenticeship (or equivalent journey-level experience), read blueprints, and perform framing and finish work in Alaska's climate.

You will work a full-time, day-shift schedule, indoors/outdoors as required, with OSHA safety practices and opportunities for on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program, or equivalent verified journey-level experience.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and methods.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and building codes.
• Experience with framing and finish work, and/or commercial carpentry.
• Physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in Alaska.

Journeyman Carpenter — Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join a construction team in Alaska. The ideal candidate has completed a formal carpentry apprenticeship (or has equivalent verified journey-level experience), works efficiently with minimal supervision, and can read plans and execute quality work in Alaska's climate and job-site conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Frame, build, and install structural and finish carpentry work (walls, floors, roofs, trim, doors, windows)
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, drywall, and other materials
• Install building materials, fixtures, and hardware to code
• Operate hand and power tools safely (saws, nail guns, levels, etc.)
• Follow blueprints and building plans to meet client/project needs
• Inspect and replace damaged framing or structures as needed
• Collaborate with other trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) on job sites
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
• Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
• Report progress and issues to job site supervisor/foreman

Requirements:

• Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program, or equivalent verified journey-level experience
• Strong working knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and methods
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and building codes
• Experience with framing, finish work, and/or commercial carpentry
• Physical stamina: ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand, bend, kneel, and work at heights
• Comfortable working outdoors in Alaska weather conditions
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain)
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a crew

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $40.00/hr, DOE
