Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Program Instructor to lead and supervise youth instruction at the Jordan YMCA in Indianapolis. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and building a positive, non-competitive environment for members.

Responsibilities include guiding activities, maintaining space safety, and ensuring proper supervision. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma, 2–3 years of youth instruction experience, and current certifications in First Aid,

Qualifications

• A minimum of 18 years of age and a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2-3 years experience instructing preferred.
• Basic knowledge of skills/techniques used preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate basic technique and form.
• Ability to communicate with preschool to middle school aged children.
• Visually inspect participation space for safety.
• Maintain current certifications in First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention and New Employee Orientation or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
