Joieful Connections in Eugene, OR is seeking a Part-time Caregiver (Direct Support Professional) to support children and young adults in Lane County. You will help develop life, social, and communication skills, assist with daily activities, and promote independence while working afternoon and evening shifts.

A driver’s license is required, and benefits including health coverage and 401K are offered. Compensation starts at $23.00 per hour, with potential up to $25.00 per hour for experienced

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• 1 year of Personal Support experience (Required).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• English reading, writing and speaking proficient.
• Pass a background check.
• Able to communicate effectively with families, medical providers and other staff.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.
• If transporting individuals, have valid driver's license and valid insurance.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities to develop life, social, and communication skills.
• Assist with independent living skills such as hygiene, safety, meal prep and social skills.
• Provide supportive care and follow behavior support plans as needed.
• Communicate effectively with families and medical teams.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of home care services.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Experience supporting high-risk individuals with behavioral support plans.
• OIS Training and Certified (pays at a higher rate).

Direct Support Professional Qualifications

• Be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Personal Support: 1 year (Required)
• High school or equivalent
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• English, Reading, Writing, and Spoken (Required)
• Be able to pass a background check
• Effective communication with families, medical providers, and other support personnel.
• Able to make calm decisions and provide support in emergency situations.
• Be certified in CPR and First Aid by a recognized training agency within 90 calendar days of employment.
• If transporting individuals, have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance in compliance with the laws of the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Candidates must have a driver's license.
