Job description

At JOCO, we empower gig workers to complete last-mile deliveries by removing all the hassle of owning, storing, charging, and maintaining E-Bikes. Since our launch in late April 2021, we’ve helped thousands of couriers complete millions of deliveries and have partnered with major players in the delivery market. We're growing rapidly across the US and are looking for an NYC-based Talent & Onboarding Lead to own and scale our recruitment and employee onboarding processes. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can build strong candidate pipelines, work closely with operational leaders, and ensure new hires are equipped to succeed from day one.

What you will do:
  • Own end-to-end recruitment across JOCO's markets, primarily hiring Mechanics, Field Associates, Concierge Associates, City Managers, and Operations Managers.
  • Work closely with City Managers, Operations Managers, and the Corporate Team to understand hiring needs, define candidate profiles, and establish recruitment priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines through job postings, proactive sourcing, outreach, referrals, and other creative recruitment strategies.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including candidate screening, interview coordination, stakeholder feedback, offer negotiations, and hiring decisions.
  • Negotiate compensation and employment offers within parameters established by relevant stakeholders.
  • Own the post-offer onboarding process, ensuring new hires submit all required documentation, complete necessary administrative requirements, and receive appropriate system access and credentials.
  • Train new employees on JOCO's internal tools, operational processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), coordinating role‑specific training with relevant stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain organized recruitment and onboarding systems, leveraging applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRMs, and other digital tools to manage candidates, track progress, and ensure timely follow‑ups
  • Track and report on key recruitment metrics, including time-to-hire, pipeline conversion, hiring costs, and onboarding completion rates.
  • Continuously improve recruitment and onboarding processes to increase efficiency, reduce hiring timelines, and improve the candidate and employee experience
  • Anticipate future staffing requirements and proactively develop talent pipelines to support JOCO's expansion into new markets.
What you will need:
  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, people operations, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working at an early-stage startup, with a demonstrated ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple recruitment processes, candidates, and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong proficiency with applicant tracking systems, CRMs, spreadsheets, and other digital tools used to manage recruitment pipelines and operational workflows.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach to candidate sourcing, with the ability to build talent pipelines rather than relying exclusively on inbound applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with sound judgment and the ability to represent JOCO professionally throughout the hiring process.
  • A process-oriented and analytical mindset, with the ability to leverage data to identify bottlenecks, measure performance, and improve outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do mentality: no job is too big or small, and no challenge is insurmountable.
  • An unbounded work ethic, willingness to take responsibility, a drive to succeed, and the ability to adapt as the company scales.
  • Experience recruiting for operations, logistics, field services, or other frontline roles is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the micromobility or last-mile delivery industry is a plus but not essential.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary plus benefits.
  • Exposure to JOCO's growth through equity ownership.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of a critical function at a rapidly growing startup, directly influencing the quality of our teams and the success of our expansion across the US.
  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
