Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a dependable cleaner for work in our racing and jockey areas. You will clean floors, windows, walls, and restrooms, mop floors, and remove trash while following safety guidelines and using appropriate cleaning chemicals.

The role emphasizes guest interaction, adherence to company standards, and a cooperative work attitude. Requires ability to read English, elevate privacy and cadence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English.

Responsibilities

• Clean jockey, barn and racing area floors, windows, walls, stairs and elevators.
• Spot vacuuming, clean and restock restrooms in racing areas.
• Mop floors and remove trash/debris from jockey and racing areas.
• Use chemicals with proper PPE and follow safety instructions.
• Interact with guests and provide guest service per company standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning all jockey, barn and racing area floors, windows, walls, stairs, and elevators.


• Responsible for spot vacuuming as required.


• Cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking all restrooms in jockey, barn and racing areas.


• Mopping floors in restrooms, jockeys quarters and other areas as needed.


• Responsible for removing all trash and debris from jockey and racing areas.


• Trash and debris to be deposited in the outside dumpster.


• Use of chemicals for cleaning and personal protective equipment.


• Ability to read, follow instructions, and understand visual aids.


• Must be able to interact with guests and provide guest service according to company standards.


• Must at all times demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, co-workers and leadership.


• Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management. SUPERViSORY RESPONSiBiLiTiES


• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)


• Must be licensed with New Mexico Racing Commission


• Excellent customer service/communication skills


• Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy


• Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.


• Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.


• Ability to speak and understand Spanish is an asset.


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.


• Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.


• The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 75 pounds and have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
