Job summary

PENN Entertainment in New Mexico is seeking an entry clerk for horse racing operations. You will collect information from owners, trainers, and agents to assemble data for overnight race cards and ensure accuracy in the RTO system.

The role requires at least three years in a similar position, licensing with the NM Racing Commission, and the ability to read English documents, communicate clearly, and work under varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar position or equivalent education/experience.
• Must meet licensing requirements of New Mexico Racing Commission.
• Must adhere to all local, state and federal standards, including OSHA requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Takes entries from owners, trainers, agents or other authorized persons and performs duties related to assembling all pertinent information for an overnight.
• Use the RTO racing software to input entries into specified races listed for that day’s race card.
• Maintain confidentiality of entries to assist profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength and compliance goals.

Your daily responsibilities include:

• Takes entries from owners, trainers, agents or other authorized persons and performs those duties related to assembling all pertinent information and aid in producing an overnight.
• Use the RTO racing software to input entries into specified races listed for that entry days race card.
• insures integrity at time of entry by keeping all entries confidential in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength and compliance goals

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set:

• Must have minimum three year’s experience in similar type position or equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide necessary knowledge, skills and abilities
• Must meet licensing requirements of New Mexico Racing Commission
• Must adhere to all local, state and federal standards, including OSHA requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to perform duties in all weather conditions

SUPERViSORY RESPONSiBiLiTiES

This job will not have supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKiLLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Ability to speak and understand Spanish is an asset.

REASONiNG ABiLiTY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
