Job summary

PENN Entertainment at Zia Park in New Mexico is seeking a detail-oriented team member to manage the timer system and correctly order horses for racing events, coordinating with the international sound system.

You will work with stewards to place horses, ensure compliance with the New Mexico Racing Commission, and support operations across the facility.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and strong communication skills, and be able to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position or equivalent education/experience.
• Must meet licensing requirements of New Mexico Racing Commission.
• Must adhere to all local, state and federal standards, including OSHA requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to perform duties in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Ability to speak and understand Spanish is an asset.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
