Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Systems Engineer / VTC Operator (Tier III) to support a customer in Quantico, VA. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of VoIP and video systems, UCaaS, SIP trunking, and UC security.

This role requires strong networking knowledge and DoD UC experience. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in unified communications, Cisco/Polycom video tech, and relevant certifications; Top Secret/SCI with CI polygraph eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years in voice/video management.
• 5+ years in unified communications focusing on voice/video systems.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols: SIP, H.323, MGCP.
• Experience with Cisco TelePresence and Polycom RealPresence.
• Familiarity with Cisco UC Manager and Microsoft Skype for Business.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP; QoS/QoE tools.
• CCNP Voice or CCIE Voice certification; CCNP Collaboration or CCIE Collaboration.
• MCSE in Skype for Business; CCNA/CCNP Routing & Switching.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliance or IA certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, operate, maintain, and update system package artifacts for Tactical AV.
• Manage VoIP and video networking, including SIP trunking and QoS/QoE.
• Oversee UCaaS solutions and video conferencing systems.
• Ensure security and compliance for unified communications.
• Support 24x7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Overview

SYSTEMS ENGINEER / VTC OPERATOR | TIER III (MIELS):

Bowhead is seeking Systems Engineer / VTC Operator to support a customer in Quantico, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and create / update system package artifacts for Tactical AV located in Hawaii.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or ten (10+) years’ of practical experience in voice and video management.
• Five (5+) years’ experience in unified communications, with a focus on voice and video systems.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols, including SIP, H.323, and MGCP.
• Experience with video conferencing systems, including Cisco TelePresence and Ploycom RealPresence.
• Familiarity with unified communications platforms, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Microsoft Skype for Business.
• Strong understanding of network architecture and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with QoS and QoE management tools, including Cisco QoS and NetIQ.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• CCNP Voice or CCIE Voice certification.
• CCNP Collaboration or CCIE Collaboration certification.
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Skype for Business.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Routing and Switching.
• Preferred: 7+ years’ experience in Video Audio engineering environment management.
• Preferred: DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required.
• Preferred: Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified.
• Preferred: Cloud certified.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

The pay scale for this position is between $115,000 - $145,000.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level with the ability to obtain a Counter Intelligence Polygraph. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
