Hands of Heartland, Inc. is seeking a part-time Job Coach in Council Bluffs, IA. You will work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them find meaningful employment and supporting on-the-job training.

Responsibilities include assisting individuals on the job, communicating with employers, and creating natural supports. Flexibility in days, evenings, and some weekends is required, with pay starting at $18.50/hour and higher for experience or CNA credentials.

Hands of Heartland is looking for dependable and compassionate individuals to provide job coaching to people with developmental disabilities in Council Bluffs, IA.

What You’ll Do: Work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of job settings to ensure they have meaningful employment. As a Job Coach you will assist individuals on the job and communicate with employers in a professional manner. Collaborate with employer to create natural supports on the job. Support the individual with training. Advocate for the individual on work related issues.

Hours: Flexibility required with availability of days, evenings, and some weekends required. Flexibility is a must as hours are based on the individual's needs.

Skillset Needed for the Job: Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible and willing to adapt to change. Know the value of communication. Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals. Understand the importance of documentation.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass all background checks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred although not required. We will train you!

Pay: Starting pay is $18.50/hour. We pay more for experience and CNA license. Incentives also available. NEW! We now offer for anyone with an active CNA license to earn CEUs while working as a DSP (thanks to the Nebraska CNA bill we helped champion!)
