Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Mechanic at the Columbus Engine Center for a weekend shift (Friday–Sunday, 6:30am–7:00pm). You will overhaul, repair, and assemble advanced jet engines powering commercial and military aircraft, working in a hands-on, team-driven environment to restore peak performance, safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A&P or Powerplant certificate preferred.
• Experience in aviation engine overhaul and repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassemble and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
