Job summary

Pratt & Whitney at the Columbus Engine Center is seeking a skilled Mechanic to overhaul, repair, and assemble jet engines for commercial and military aircraft. You will work in a hands-on, team-driven environment, applying mechanical expertise to restore engines to peak performance and reliability.

The role emphasizes turbine engine disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing, with a weekend shift (Fri–Sun, 6:30am–7:00pm).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience.
• Experience in Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
