Job summary

RTX at the Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center is seeking a skilled Mechanic to overhaul, repair, and assemble jet engines powering commercial and military aircraft. You will work in a hands-on, team-driven environment focused on peak performance, safety, and reliability.

The role requires basic qualifications and hands-on experience in engine maintenance, with a weekend schedule supporting Friday–Sunday shifts.

Job Summary:

Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands-on, team-driven environment, you’ll apply your mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability.

This is a Weekend Shift position:Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7:00 pm

What You Will Do:

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with
• published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience
• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP
