Job summary

RTX is seeking a skilled Mechanic at the Columbus Engine Center to overhaul, repair, and assemble jet engines for commercial and military aircraft. You will work in a hands-on, team-driven environment, applying mechanical expertise to restore peak performance, safety, and reliability of engines.

This weekend shift position runs Friday–Sunday, 6:30am–7:00pm, with benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, 401(k), paid time off, and employee support programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience preferred.
• A&P license or Powerplant certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
