Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking an Operations mechanic to support Columbus Engine Center (CEC), Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) or MECoE in Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT). You will perform engine assembly/disassembly and related test operations to meet production schedules with adherence to safety and quality policies.

The role is onsite in Columbus, GA, requiring HS Diploma or GED and 1+ year aviation mechanic experience or equivalent training.

Qualifications

1+ years’ experience in aviation mechanic role or appropriate technical training (ASE certification or military mechanic equivalent)
Basic understanding of DAT – Disassembly, Assembly, Test.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self‑inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
