Job summary

Expedia Group is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to join the Commerce Attributes Store Team in Austin. You’ll build streaming and batch data-processing pipelines, design data models, and own end-to-end components, leveraging Java, Kafka, Spark, and S3.

You’ll collaborate with product and data teams to deliver scalable, reliable data solutions and integrate AI/ML-enabled capabilities in real-world products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience building production software or data pipelines.
• Ownership of services, pipelines, or features across design, deployment and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain streaming and batch data-processing pipelines using Kafka, Spark, and S3.
• Design, build, and evolve data-intensive software with Java, API design, and data modeling.
• Collaborate to translate requirements into reusable data solutions and integrations.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle including testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions within data pipelines.
• Contribute to scalable, reliable systems and clear APIs.
