Job summary

Bitpanda is seeking an engineer for its Prime Services team to design, build, and scale the low-latency back-end systems powering our margin trading ecosystem. You will own critical infrastructure spanning leverage, collateral management, real-time risk, and automated liquidation engines.

Collaborating with product, quantitative, and risk teams, you will help shape how clients access leverage and how Bitpanda manages credit risk at scale.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience with Micronaut/Spring Boot and Java 17+.
• Strong REST API design and performance optimization experience.
• Practical knowledge of message-oriented middleware (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or ZeroMQ).
• CI/CD and cloud familiarity (AWS; Kubernetes is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, resilient back-end services in Java and Micronaut/Spring Boot.
• Ensure high test coverage (80% unit, end-to-end, integration).
• Optimize payment modules for reliability, performance and scalability.
• Mentor junior developers and drive backend innovation and best practices.
