Job summary

Actus Consulting Group in New York, NY seeks a seasoned cybersecurity advisor to lead strategic engagements for senior clients, developing governance frameworks and 3-year roadmaps aligned with business priorities.

You will perform vCISO duties, architect security across identity, network, cloud, and data, and drive regulatory readiness for NIST CSF, NYDFS 500, HIPAA, CMMC, ISO 27001/27002 and SOC 2.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cybersecurity/advisory experience.
• 5+ years in senior consulting, advisory, or vCISO roles, Big 4 or equivalent preferred.
• Experience leading multi-quarter advisory engagements with executive stakeholders (CIO, CISO, Board).
• Working knowledge of major cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, CRI Profile, NYDFS 500, HIPAA, CMMC, CIS Controls).
• Strong technical fluency across IAM, SSO, MFA, SASE/ZTNA, firewall, EDR/MDM, AWS/Azure/M365, DLP/DSPM/SSPM.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese for engagement with Japanese executives.
• Strong executive communication and business-language storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-quarter advisory engagements for strategic accounts.
• Translate regulatory obligations into actionable remediation plans.
• Serve as fractional CISO and present to boards/executives.
• Define target-state security architectures spanning IAM to data layers.
• Provide post-incident advisory and root-cause analysis guidance.
• Build senior customer relationships and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to advisory methodology and mentor junior staff.
• Bridge US and Japan operations leveraging global resources.
