Job summary

Cinter Career seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to lead multi-quarter advisory engagements for strategic accounts, shaping cybersecurity strategy, governance, and three-year roadmaps. You will serve as a virtual CISO for organizations without a dedicated security executive and present security posture in executive forums.

Required are 10+ years in cybersecurity advisory, strong knowledge of NIST/ISO/CMMC frameworks, and business-level Japanese.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, information risk management, or related advisory roles.
• At least 5 years in a senior consulting, advisory, or vCISO capacity.
• Proven experience leading long-term advisory engagements with executive stakeholders (CIOs, CISOs, Boards).
• Knowledge of major frameworks: NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, CRI Profile, NYDFS Part 500, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2.
• Strong technical understanding of security architecture (IAM, SSO, MFA, SASE, ZTNA, Firewalls, EDR, MDM, AWS/Azure, M365, DLP, DSPM, SSPM).
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese (reading, writing, speaking).
• Excellent executive-level communication translating technical concepts to business terms.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field; Master's preferred.
• CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC or equivalent certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct readiness assessments and gap analyses against major frameworks (NIST CSF 2.0, NYDFS 500, HIPAA, CMMC, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Serve as a Virtual CISO for organizations without a security executive, representing security in board meetings.
• Define target-state security architectures across identity, network, endpoint, cloud, and data security domains.
• Align security architecture decisions with modernization strategies and managed security services.
• Provide post-incident advisory support including root-cause analysis and regulatory guidance.
• Build long-term relationships with senior stakeholders and act as primary strategic advisor.
• Coordinate with pre-sales, delivery, account management, and customer success teams for successful outcomes.
• Contribute to advisory methodologies and cybersecurity service innovation.
• Mentor junior consultants and pre-sales engineers on engagement best practices.
• Collaborate with teams in the U.S. and Japan to leverage global threat intelligence.

What will you do

• Conduct readiness assessments and gap analyses against major frameworks including NIST CSF 2.0, CRI Profile v2.1, NYDFS Part 500, HIPAA, CMMC, ISO 27001, and SOC 2, and translate findings into actionable remediation plans.
• Serve as a Virtual CISO (vCISO) for organizations without a dedicated security executive, representing the security function in board meetings, supporting executive risk decision-making, and leading annual program reviews.
• Define target-state security architectures across identity, network, endpoint, cloud, and data security domains.
• Align security architecture decisions with customer IT modernization strategies and managed security service offerings.
• Provide post-incident advisory support, including root-cause analysis facilitation, executive communications, regulatory notification guidance, and program improvement recommendations.
• Build long-term relationships with senior customer stakeholders and serve as the primary strategic advisor for assigned accounts.
• Coordinate with pre-sales, delivery, account management, and customer success teams to ensure successful execution and customer outcomes.
• Contribute to advisory methodologies, intellectual property development, and cybersecurity service innovation.
• Mentor junior consultants and pre-sales engineers on consulting best practices and customer engagement strategies.
• Collaborate closely with teams in both the U.S. and Japan to leverage global expertise, threat intelligence, and customer relationships.
