Job summary

Southall Farm & Inn is seeking January Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in delivering Forbes-level service across all meal periods, including Brunch and Tea. You will lead front-of-house operations, coach the team, and ensure exceptional guest experiences.

This role emphasizes operational excellence, staff development, safety compliance, and collaboration with culinary and beverage teams, with duties including MOD coverage and performance reporting.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in upscale or luxury restaurant or hospitality environments.
  • Experience supporting or leading daily front-of-house operations with a strong focus on Forbes service standards and refined guest engagement.
  • Hands-on experience executing Brunch and Tea service, including pacing, presentation, and elevated service rituals.
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and develop service teams, reinforcing accountability, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Experience serving as Manager on Duty, confidently leading service and handling operational decision-making.
  • Strong collaboration experience with culinary and beverage teams to ensure seamless menu knowledge and service execution.
  • Working knowledge of labor management, scheduling, and operational reporting.
  • Experience managing guest feedback and service recovery with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  • Solid understanding of safety, compliance, and hospitality operating standards.
  • 4-year college degree preferred, but combination of education and relevant position training and experience will be considered.
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.
  • Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods as needed and able to work in all weather conditions

The January Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of January.
