Job summary

Southall is seeking a polished Server to lead the guest experience across our signature outlets—Sojourner, Dottie's and January, our Michelin Green Star restaurant—in Franklin, TN. You will provide 5-star service, coordinate with kitchen and bar, memorize menu items, train staff, and maintain hospitality standards while ensuring a seamless dining journey for every guest.

You will mentor new staff, assist with opening and closing procedures, and uphold our commitment to sustainability and guest

Qualifications

• Restaurant hospitality experience required or preferred.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of food, wine, liquor and service standards.
• Understanding of reservation processes.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide immersive, well-curated dining experiences highlighting our seed-to-table operation.
• Communicate guest orders and special needs to kitchen and bar; coordinate timing of food and beverage service.
• Anticipate guest needs and maintain high service standards.
• Attend bar and wine service training; maintain knowledge of menu and offerings.
• Close guest checks accurately; process payments and settlements.
• Coordinate with culinary team on changes and requests; ensure smooth service flow.
• Mentor and train new staff; provide guidance and direction.
• Complete opening/closing side work; restock and clean accordingly.
• Memorize menu items and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings; uphold product and service knowledge.
• Maintain professional appearance and courteous demeanor; work harmoniously with team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Southall Leadership.

Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way.

Server will be responsible for leading the guest experience while providing 5-star dining service in our signature outlets: Sojourner, Dottie's and / or our Michelin Green Star restaurant, January.

Responsibilities

• Provide an immersive well-curated dining experience to our guests by highlighting our seed to table operation
• Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen and bar using the hotel’s point-of-sales system, coordinate food and beverage timings
• Anticipate guest needs
• Attend bar and wine service training
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; room charges, properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals
• Maintain an active understanding of front of house and back of house procedures
• Coordinate with culinary team’s daily and weekly changes and requests
• Perform new staff mentoring, training, providing insight and direction
• Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed
• Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials in order to answer questions and make recommendations to customers
• Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communications and knowledge of products, service and facility
• Remain attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the property at all times
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Southall Leadership

Requirements

• Restaurant hospitality experience; fine dining service experience preferred
• Strong team leadership and organizational skills
• Food, wine, and liquor knowledge

• High School Diploma
• Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.
• Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays
