We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Janitorial and Maintenance professional to support the cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of our facility. This role combines custodial responsibilities with general building and machinery maintenance and requires someone who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting equipment, and performing a variety of physical tasks. The position is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary floors, restrooms, work areas, and common spaces.
Duties include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors, carpets, and stairs; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms; emptying trash and recycling; dusting and sanitizing surfaces; restocking soap, paper products, and other supplies; and maintaining high-touch areas throughout the facility. In addition to facility cleaning, this role performs general machinery maintenance, including diagnosing equipment issues, making repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and completing daily machine servicing such as checking and maintaining coolant and oil levels.
The employee must be comfortable working in confined spaces, including behind or beneath machinery, and must strictly follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Requirements. General Maintenance Responsibilities Include conducting monthly inspections, assisting with building maintenance and routine repairs, replacing light bulbs and repairing or securing loose fixtures, and promptly reporting major maintenance concerns to the Facility manager.
The role may also occasionally assist the Shipping Department by building wooden shipping crates. This is a day-shift position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The yearly salary would be between $50-$70k per year dependent on experience. The standard workday is 8 hours, with occasional overtime and weekend work required based on business or maintenance needs. During winter storms and severe weather, employees may also be called in prior to their start time to assist with snow removal and other weather-related facility needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically capable, and willing to take on a wide range of facility and maintenance responsibilities to help keep the workplace clean, safe, and operating efficiently.
