Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician / Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility. This role performs routine custodial duties throughout office and warehouse areas while also assisting with basic facility maintenance, minor repairs, and vendor coordination as needed. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while supporting the overall operation of the facility.

Essential Responsibilities

Custodial Duties

• Perform daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning of office, warehouse, breakroom, restroom, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize facility spaces.
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, walkways, and shared workspaces.
• Remove trash and recycling and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed.
• Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and assist other departments in maintaining facility cleanliness.

Facility Maintenance Duties

• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance tasks as appropriate.
• Assist with basic maintenance of building systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors for repairs and preventative maintenance services.
• Maintain company equipment and report issues requiring additional attention.
• Support warehouse and operations teams with facility-related needs.
• Respond to employee facility requests as directed by management.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures when performing custodial and maintenance activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in commercial custodial, facilities, or maintenance-related roles.
• Experience maintaining office, warehouse, or industrial environments preferred.
• Basic knowledge of facility maintenance and repair practices.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and maintenance tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized facility.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees, vendors, and contractors.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in both custodial cleaning and facility maintenance.
• Experience supporting warehouse or distribution environments.
• Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing maintenance.

Position Requirements

• 5+ years general maintenance experience, electrical, plumbing or HVAC knowledge a plus.
• Highly energized team player who takes initiative with a positive outlook
• Attention to detail a must
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
• Interacts with others in a professional and respectful manner.
• MS suite computer skills and ability to use specialty software.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be capable of Lifting up to 30 pounds if necessary.
• Must be capable of Bending, Twisting, etc.
