Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking an Area Manager to supervise janitorial staff across assigned sites and ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service. This role manages labor budgets, schedules, and training while maintaining strong client relationships.

You will lead hiring, orientation, coaching, and performance reviews, while monitoring safety, quality, and compliance to company standards. A service-focused leader is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
• Business level oral and written communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent customer service skills; active listening skills.
• Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.

Responsibilities

• Select and place janitorial personnel; hiring decisions and performance appraisals.
• Understand and champion company principles, core values and people culture.
• Assign duties, inspect work for cleanliness and quality; review performed work.
• Determine procedures and schedules to keep the account within labor budget.
• Conduct new hire orientation and safety training to ensure safe performance.
• Prepare and review time sheets, reports, work orders, and supplies.
• Foster communication, address employee relations issues, and coach staff.
• Build relationships with customers by visiting accounts to ensure quality.
• Resolve problems to maintain high customer satisfaction; document issues.
• Monitor accounts for new work opportunities and contract expansions.
• Ensure Quality Control site visits are completed and recorded.
• Spend time at accounts to support outcomes and meet customer needs.
