Job Opening: Janitor

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Janitor positions at New Kent County Schools, located at 7365 Egypt Road, New Kent, VA 23124. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm. More details will be provided during the interview.

Requirements: Willing to train.

Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour.

Job Summary

The janitor keeps buildings clean and orderly by performing heavy cleaning duties, including floor cleaning, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and return it to proper placement.
• Clean assigned areas with appropriate materials and equipment, sanitize all surfaces, and follow the eight-step cleaning process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, and baseboards to maintain a clean environment.
• Identify areas needing cleaning and complete tasks proactively.
• Complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor, following all relevant guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets.
• Contribute to team efforts and maintain professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
