Job Summary

Full‑time janitor providing cleaning and maintenance services across McDaniel College campuses. Responsibilities include floor care, dusting, sanitation, and ensuring all areas meet safety and cleanliness standards.

Key Details

• Location: McDaniel College – 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157 (other district locations available).
• Employment type: Full‑time. Schedule varies: Mon‑Fri 5:00 am‑1:30 pm; Wed‑Sun 11:00 am‑7:30 pm; or 4:00 pm‑12:30 am. Full and part‑time shifts adaptable to schedule needs.
• Pay: $16.50 per hour.
• Benefits: Full benefits package, same‑day pay, training available.
• Qualifications: Prior janitorial experience preferred; willingness to follow procedures and complete tasks assigned by supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and return to correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas using designated materials and equipment; sanitize all surfaces according to the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Identify areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Perform duties in accordance with all federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpet.
• Collaborate with team members and demonstrate professionalism toward customers, coworkers, and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
