Job summary

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a dependable Janitor to maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our Blackwood facility and surrounding grounds. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role helps ensure a safe, clean, and presentable environment for clients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, equivalent, or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of janitorial/housekeeping experience.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, and climb stairs.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cleanliness of the facility’s interior
• Ensure the building and surrounding exterior areas remain clean and presentable
• Empty trash cans daily and ensure waste is properly discarded
• Keep dumpster areas sanitary and orderly
• Sanitize trash cans and replace liners as needed
• Clean, deodorize, and sanitize bathrooms and ensure they are properly supplied each day
• Sweep, mop, dust mop, and vacuum floors daily
• Strip, buff, and finish floors as needed
• Shampoo rugs as needed
• Clean windows and doors as required
• Report maintenance and supply needs to the appropriate supervisor
• Keep walkways clear of snow and other debris
• Keep stairs and doorways free from obstruction
• Maintain client and staff confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and procedures
• Attend required staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions
• Complete other duties as assigned

What You Need:
