Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time Janitor in Tacoma, WA to maintain cleanliness and safety across facilities. Under supervision, you will perform daily cleaning tasks and ensure environments meet health standards.

You will inspect premises, stock supplies, handle chemicals safely, and may assist with minor repairs and grounds upkeep. The role emphasizes reliability, physical fitness, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience and knowledge of common janitorial practices and procedures preferred.
• Must be in good physical condition.
• Must be a United States citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
• Must have resided within the United States or its territories for the last five years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• The Janitor performs janitorial cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
• The Janitor conducts daily inspections of the facility and grounds for safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.
• May assist in stocking and picking up of supplies.
• Conducts weekly inventory of supplies and equipment needed to maintain sanitation; Receives and stores all supplies.
• Ensures chemicals and hazardous materials are properly controlled, issued, and accounted for per safety standards.
• Maintains a safe working environment and attends safety training.
• May perform basic minor repairs.
• May maintain facility grounds (lawns, trees, shrubs, plantings).
• May remove dirt, rubbish, leaves and other refuse from grounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities Summary Under direct supervision, the Janitor performs janitorial cleaning and maintaining of facilities.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• The Janitor is responsible for proper facility cleaning in compliance to health and safety standards.
• The Janitor conducts daily inspections of the facility and grounds for safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.
• May assist in stocking and picking up of supplies.
• Conducts weekly inventory of supplies and equipment needed to maintain sanitation. Receives and stores all supplies, ensuring appropriate housekeeping standards are met.
• Ensures that all chemicals and hazardous materials used in the facility are properly controlled, issued, and accounted for in accordance with all safety and national standards.
• Maintains a safe working environment and continually attends training in safety awareness.
• May be expected to make basic minor repairs.
• May need to maintain facility grounds, including lawns, trees, shrubs, and plantings.
• May need to remove dirt, rubbish, leaves and all other refuse from facility grounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
