Job summary

CHP Health in Monterey County is hiring a Jail-Based Competency Treatment (JBCT) and Early Access to Stabilization Services Licensed Mental Health Clinician to serve inmates at the Monterey County Jail. This on-site role requires CA licensure and a strong background in competency restoration, correctional health, or acute behavioral health care.

You will deliver individual and group therapy, develop treatment plans, coordinate with jail and health staff, and participate in education for staff

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or related behavioral health field.
• Active independent clinical licensure in California (LCSW/LMFT/LPCC/PsyD/PhD).
• Current CA clinical licensure in good standing; dependently licensed clinicians will be considered.
• CA jail clearance ability.
• Experience in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a contributing member of the treatment team for JBCT and EASS patients as clinician, case manager, and discharge planner.
• Direct patient care for a jail-based competency restoration program (11 patients, co-ed).
• Provide individual and group therapy and psychoeducation targeting competency restoration.
• Coordinate with health and correctional staff on patients' mental health care.
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Maintain liaison with DSH, MSO, and CHP policies.
