Job summary

Alameda County Health seeks a Forensic Behavioral Health Clinician I to deliver mental health services in a jail setting. Under supervision, you will perform evaluations, document histories, and contribute to crisis intervention and treatment planning for forensic clients.

Qualifications

Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or closely related field.
Associate registration as social worker, or psychology/therapy-related license with verification within 6 months.
Some positions require a valid CA driver’s license.
Must possess National Provider Identifier (NPI) prior to first day.

Responsibilities

Provide mental health clinical services and forensically focused case management to jail clients.
Conduct mental health evaluations and DSM‑V related diagnoses; assess risk of harm.
Provide crisis intervention and stabilization; coordinate with Sheriff’s Deputies on use of force.
Discharge planning and collaboration with programs for ongoing care.
