Job summary

Alameda County Health seeks a Forensic Behavioral Health Clinician I to deliver mental health services in a jail setting. Under supervision, you will perform evaluations, document histories, and contribute to crisis intervention and treatment planning for forensic clients.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or closely related field.
• Associate registration as social worker, or psychology/therapy-related license with verification within 6 months.
• Some positions require a valid CA driver’s license.
• Must possess National Provider Identifier (NPI) prior to first day.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health clinical services and forensically focused case management to jail clients.
• Conduct mental health evaluations and DSM‑V related diagnoses; assess risk of harm.
• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization; coordinate with Sheriff’s Deputies on use of force.
• Discharge planning and collaboration with programs for ongoing care.
