Job summary

NTBHA seeks a Jail-Based Competency Facilitator to provide jail-based assessments and care coordination for incarcerated clients in the NTBHA service area. You will bridge gaps to outpatient care and coordinate with jail staff and community providers to ensure continuity of care.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, resilience-oriented care with documentation and regulatory compliance. Travel is required to cover Dallas and surrounding counties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a law enforcement or correctional setting involving direct contact with incarcerated individuals.
• Minimum two years of experience in outpatient mental health with severe mental illness or substance use disorders, or two years with a master’s degree.
• Experience in providing psychosocial education, skills training, or teaching for the target population.
• Experience with treatment teams that develop and monitor plans for persons with SMI/SUD.

Responsibilities

• Use NTBHA’s approved curriculum and assessments with clients in line with their abilities and status.
• Assist incarcerated clients in accessing mental health services and planning for release.
• Monitor client progress and report to NTBHA and partners per policies.
• Build rapport with criminal justice-involved individuals and communicate effectively with courts and jails.
• Coordinate with courts, jails, attorneys, and providers to support continuity of care.
• Prepare and maintain records, files, and correspondence within NTBHA and partners.
• Collaborate with staff and community partners, adapting to business needs.
• Proficient Microsoft Office; operate on a PC; flexibly schedule duties.
• Bilingual ability preferred but not required.
