Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is a plus.
• Minimum of two years of experience in sterile compounding, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards governing sterile compounding.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Sterile Compounding: Prepare sterile intravenous medications according to established protocols and procedures.
• Quality Assurance: Perform routine inspections and quality control checks to ensure integrity and sterility of compounds.
• Inventory Monitoring: Track inventory levels and assist in ordering and stocking of products, with accurate records.
• Compliance: Adhere to USP 797 standards and all relevant regulations governing sterile compounding and pharmacy practice.
• Collaboration: Work with pharmacists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate preparation and delivery of IV meds.
• Patient Care: Ensure timely, accurate delivery of intravenous medications to long-term care facilities and patients with professional and empathetic service.
