Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy tech training preferred.
• Minimum of two years in sterile compounding.
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards governing sterile compounding.
• Effective communication and collaboration with a diverse medical team.

Responsibilities

• Sterile compounding: prepare sterile intravenous medications per protocols with accurate labeling and documentation.
• Quality assurance: perform routine inspections and aseptic checks to ensure sterility.
• Inventory monitoring: track supplies, assist with ordering, maintain accurate records of expiration dates.
• Compliance: follow USP 797 and other regulations; stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Collaboration: work with pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare professionals to ensure safe delivery of IV meds.
• Patient care: deliver medications timely and with professionalism to long-term care facilities and patients.
