Job summary

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician License or Trainee-License required.
• Certification preferred; certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique and drug distribution.
• Familiarization with pharmacy stock and distribution procedures.
• Drug nomenclature and dosage calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Experience in IV admixture including syringes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparing IV admixtures and other drugs.
• Place wholesaler orders for stock replacement.
• Fulfill duties necessary for pharmacy management under supervision.
