Job summary

JobRx, Inc. in Lackawanna County, PA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and keeping patient records accurate.

The role requires a high school diploma, PA technician registration, and ideally certification; 1–2 years pharmacy experience preferred; on-site duties with HIPAA compliance and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Required to register with the PA State board of Pharmacy as a licensed Pharmacy Technician or Trainee.
• One to two years of pharmacy experience preferred.
• Possession of a current certification as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Must maintain current Technician Certification if applicable.
• Knowledge of pharmacy law, numerical ability, aseptic technique, accurate analysis and evaluation of orders required.
• Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
• Must maintain confidentiality of patient, visitor and employee information.
• Must be able to organize and prioritize assignments.
• Must demonstrate independent thinking/sound judgement, clinical expertise, ability to teach/instruct, and possess manual and finger dexterity.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of management, staff and the public required.

Responsibilities

• Compounds intravenous admixtures or other sterile products accurately and in compliance with USP797.
• Fills prescriptions accurately with facility appropriate packaging and labeling as well as stock requisitions and automated dispensing cabinets.
• Restocks and maintains inventory levels in work areas with labels, consumables, containers and other necessary production materials.
• Reorders anticipating turnover rate, lead time and safety stock.
• Competent extemporaneous compounding skills with accurate measuring devices and proper documentation.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies; rotates stock to use before expiration date; maintains NDC continuity.
