Job summary

CommuniCare Family of Companies seeks a Pharmacy IV Technician in Glen Burnie, MD to prepare IV medications under pharmacist supervision, following USP797 guidelines and LTC SOPs.

You will manage inventory, enter orders in the pharmacy system, and maintain cleanroom standards while documenting temperatures and cleaning logs. Benefits include health/dental/vision, 401(k) matching, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must be a Maryland licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Working knowledge of USP797 guidelines for training, compounding, and cleanroom monitoring.
• Previous Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of FrameworkLTC is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision of Pharmacist and Lead Pharmacy IV Technician.
• Follow SOPs and USP797 to prepare IV medications.
• Make requisitions for drugs and supplies with pharmacist guidance.
• Receive and maintain inventory of drugs; ensure security.
• Enter medication orders into the pharmacy operating system.
• Clean and maintain cleanroom per USP797 and SOPs.
• Maintain records of compounding, temps, and cleaning logs.
• Verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy.
• Print labels and package prescriptions per Long Term Care standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
