PharMerica in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is hiring a full-time Pharmacy IV Technician to join our non-retail, closed-door pharmacy team serving long-term care and senior living clients.

You will maintain sterile compounding room per USP 797, prepare prescriptions for long-term care residents, assist pharmacists with data entry and QA, and support inventory and shipping processes. We offer comprehensive benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
• 6 months to 1 year of IV Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and monitor the Sterile Compounding Room in accordance with USP 797 and state regulatory standards.
• Prepare and fill prescriptions for long-term care residents and Alere high-risk pregnancy patients.
• Support QA processes, ensuring compliance with compounding and documentation requirements.
• Assist pharmacists with data entry, refill coordination, and communication with nursing homes and Alere clients.
• Stage, prepare, and fill medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and clean infusion pumps and other sterile compounding equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safety.
• Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits for long-term care facilities.
• Perform shipping and tracking of Alere packages via third-party overnight logistics providers.
• Support inventory management, filing, answering phones, and stocking areas within the IV department.
• Collaborate with Lead IV Technician and Pharmacy Supervisor to maintain a safe, compliant, organized work environment.
• Promptly report any operational or compliance concerns related to USP 797 standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacist, IV Supervisor, or Director of Pharmacy.
