Job summary

Metric Engineering LLC seeks a candidate to join its ITS/Traffic/TSM&O EI team, focusing on ITS, traffic signal and tolling systems deployment. You will support design, analysis, plans, specs, and client communications for transportation tech projects across government agencies.

Travel within Florida is anticipated; a bachelor’s degree and 0–4 years’ experience are preferred. Excellent written communication and familiarity with fiber optic networks and layer-2 Ethernet are a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area and 0–4 years of experience in ITS, traffic signals, and tolling.
• Familiarity with layer 2 networking and fiber optic tech as related to ITS.

Responsibilities

• Complete assignments as directed by the ITS Project Manager or project lead.
• Work under supervision and report progress to the project leader or manager.
• Apply ITS, traffic signal and tolling principles to solve problems.
• Develop ITS, traffic and tolling plans, specifications and related documents.
• Attend client meetings, take minutes, and distribute to team members.
• QC/proofread technical documents prior to submission.
• Evaluate current corridor/signal operations for upgrades.
• Gather data from project locations (e.g., road gradients, crosswalks).
• Willingness to be trained; experience preferred.
