Job summary

Union College is seeking a Work-Study ITS Helpdesk student in Schenectady, NY for Fall 2026. The position focuses on Tier-one support, walk-in assistance, and equipment delivery and setup within Schaffer Library and Peschel Computer Center.

Hours are fall/winter/spring, with AM shifts preferred, and pay is $9.70/hour through the Work-Study program. A positive, confidential, and professional attitude is essential for success in this on-campus role.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of PC and Mac software and hardware, and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Tier-one telephone support.
• Greeting and assistance for walk-ins.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software.
• Deliver and set-up computers, monitors, printers and other peripherals.
• Inventory and stock management, locating, counting, moving, cleaning and recycling.
• General office duties, including reception backup.
• Interact with faculty, staff and students.
• Involvement in department events and/or event setup.
• Potential management, scheduling and training of new student workers.
