Job summary

Econolite Group in Miami Lakes, FL is seeking an ITS Technician to lead installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of traffic signals and ITS devices across assigned sites. The role requires field work, safety-conscious approach, and willingness to travel.

You will collaborate with teams to support customers, operate bucket trucks, and ensure reliable ITS infrastructure. Candidates should have related experience and relevant certifications where possible; on-site work with Florida travel is

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of related experience
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, practices, and methods used in installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic signals, ITS devices and associated equipment
• Knowledge of fiber optic cable & networking equipment, Fiber training preferred
• Ability to interpret design schematics, site plans, maps, and engineering drawings
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable DMV record; commercial driver’s license preferred
• Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Computer software skills including MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, replacement, programming, repair and troubleshooting of ITS equipment, including CCTV cameras, video detection, radar detection, loop detectors, dynamic message signs, connected vehicle RSU’s, poles, etc.
• Field implementation of traffic control devices as needed (signs, cones, etc.)
• Includes driving / operation of a bucket truck for traffic signal and ITS maintenance duties
• Perform all job functions of ITS Technician and any other assignments as requested
• May require on-call on-site response for customer call outs, including nights and weekends
• May include travel within Florida and / or within the US
• Serves as a proactive customer service & quality ambassador of The Econolite Group, Inc. by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner to support The Brand Promise
• Performs other duties as required and assigned

Education

IMSA Level II or IMSA Level III certification

FDOT Temporary Traffic Control Certification
