Department of Technology Management and Budget (DTMB) is seeking an Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12 to support the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Public Health Administration Environmental Health Bureau. The role focuses on building and maintaining automated processes to streamline critical business operations.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of IT experience.

Job description

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB. This position will serve as a senior level business analyst supporting the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). This position will support the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Public Health Administration Environmental Health Bureau. This position will serve as a technical consultant to MDHHS clients to develop solutions for streamlining critical business processes according to MDHHS’ strategic plan. This position is integral to developing and maintaining MDHHS’ automated processes, streamlining critical business processes, data integrity, and securing MDHHS systems. Position performs as an Information Technology professional participating in a variety of analytical assignments that provide for the enhancement, integration, maintenance, and implementation of information systems.

DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT.

ITPA 12 -- Position Description

SIGNING BONUS:

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Education

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of thefollowing: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications,networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project managementor mathematics.

Experience

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure orProgrammer/Analyst P11.

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science,information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking,systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years ofexperience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; ortwo years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may besubstituted for the education requirement.

OR

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience asan application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for theeducation requirement.
