Job summary

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required and relevant teaching credentials.
• California credential to teach deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Experience with students who have hearing disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individualized lessons at school sites with diverse materials and techniques.
• Demonstrate strategies to develop listening and communication skills through interaction.
• Explain use and care of listening technology to families and staff.
• Share materials and lesson plans with colleagues.
• Collect and document ongoing data on student progress toward IEP outcomes.
• Attend IEP meetings as required.
• Assess academic and auditory skill development using formal and informal measures.
• Develop and implement curriculum aligned to student objectives.
• Monitor learning and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Perform other duties as required.
