Qualifications

• Knowledge of deaf culture is required.
• Ability to teach students in grades K-12.
• Ability to work with children of all ages.
• Ability to understand and support independent study program concepts.
• Ability to organize and present ideas clearly in speech and writing.
• Ability to make skillful decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to operate a PC, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, copier, FAX and other office machines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct regularly scheduled individualized lessons at the school site using varied materials and teaching techniques.
• Demonstrate strategies for developing listening and communication skills through student interaction.
• Explain listening technology types and benefits to families and staff.
• Share materials and lesson plans with colleagues.
• Collect and document ongoing data on student progress toward IEP outcomes.
