Job summary

Eataly in New Jersey is seeking a line cook to transform high-quality ingredients into authentic Italian dishes in our open, fast-paced kitchens. You will prepare, cook, and plate items under the Sous Chef Manager and ensure timing and presentation meet our standards.

The role requires availability to work onsite with evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods. Base pay is $20–$22 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a food preparation position.
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity to use small tools and utensils adeptly.
• Knowledge of Italian pasta and cuisines.

Responsibilities

• Portions, cuts, slices, dips, batters, breads, whips, beats, maintains holding temperature, fries and sautés.
• Selects cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game or vegetables to be used for frying or sautéing.
• Plates menu items along with appropriate garnish.
• Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures, and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
