Long Finch Technologies, LLC. is seeking a Senior IT VMware Systems Engineer for a long-term contract in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid). The role focuses on managing large-scale VMware environments, including vSphere 8 and VCF 9, with real-time capacity monitoring and hardware lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Hands-on VMware administration and support in large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

Senior IT VMware Systems Engineer

Long-Term Contract opportunity located in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid).

Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support large-scale VMware virtualization environments (400–500 servers).
• Work on VMware vSphere 8 and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9).
• Perform real-time capacity monitoring and infrastructure health checks.
• Review and validate capacity enhancement requests (RITMs).
• Drive hardware lifecycle management and replacement of end-of-life servers.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere 8.
• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9) experience.
• Enterprise VMware infrastructure administration and support.
• Capacity planning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of production change management, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with VMware Aria Operations, NSX‑T, and vSAN.
• Good to have: PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Aria Operations, VRLI, and VRNI.
• VMware migration and infrastructure automation.
• ITIL / VMware certifications.
• In‑person interview is mandatory.
• Local candidates preferred.
• Must be comfortable working onsite 3 days per week in Jersey City, NJ.
• Banking / Financial Services domain experience with production change management, security, regulatory, and governance requirements.

Resource will be handling real time capacity monitoring for our environment, reviewing all incoming RITMs by validating, challenging, and reviewing before approving the requests for Capacity increases. Also, this resource will be driving the replacement of aging servers that have reached end of life with its deployment and placing it in production. The refresh is essential to eliminate the risk of hardware failures that could impact service continuity. This is to manage additional work required due to onboarding of "Follow the Sun Model" (FTS), Hardware and Software Obsolescence and BAU activities.
