Job summary

Micasa Global in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Senior IT VMware Systems Engineer to manage real time capacity monitoring, validate incoming requests, and drive capacity increases. The role drives server refreshes to production, ensuring continuity, especially within a Follow the Sun model and strict banking security governance.

Ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands-on VMware experience (vSphere 8+, NSX-T, vSAN), plus automation with PowerCLI, vRA, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell/Python and Aria

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5-7 years of hands on experience designing, deploying, and supporting large scale VMware environments (vSphere 8+, NSX T, vSAN).
• Experience migrating legacy VMware sites to VMware Cloud Foundation 9 or newer cloud native stacks.
• Strong automation background – PowerCLI, vRA, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell/Python scripting.
• Hands on with Aria Operations suite (vROps), VRLI, VRNI for log analytics and network insight.
• Enterprise storage knowledge (EMC/Isilon, Pure, NetApp) and iSCSI.
• Deep networking knowledge – TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, NSX-T concepts.
• Experience applying AI ops: predictive monitoring, automated RCA, LLM-driven chat ops, capacity forecasting.
• Proven record of cost optimisation and TCO improvement.
• Excellent communication and project management skills; Agile/ITIL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resource will be handling real time capacity monitoring for our environment, reviewing all incoming RITMs by validating, challenging, and reviewing before approving the requests for Capacity increases.
• Drive the replacement of aging servers that have reached end of life with deployment and placement into production to maintain service continuity.
• Manage additional work due to onboarding of Follow the Sun Model (FTS), hardware and software obsolescence, and BAU activities.

Note: Hands on experience in vSphere, VCF & VMware with banking domain experience.

In-person interview required, local talents preferred

• 3 days in office (Mon or Fri + 2 days)
• VMware VSphere8 ; VCF 9 launched in June 2025 .
• Managing large estate of 400-500 SX servers
• Banking/ Financial services experience important - awareness of security and regulatory, governance environment
• BFS protocol- outages – “production change” window for changes etc.

Senior IT VMware Systems Engineer

Resource will be handling real time capacity monitoring for our environment, reviewing all incoming RITMs by validating, challenging, and reviewing before approving the requests for Capacity increases. Also, this resource will be driving the replacement of aging servers that have reached end of life with its deployment and placing it in production. The refresh is essential to eliminate the risk of hardware failures that could impact service continuity. This is to manage additional work required due to onboarding of "Follow the Sun Model" (FTS), Hardware and Software Obsolescence and BAU activities.

• Required Experience & Qualifications (2026)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5 7 years of hands on experience designing, deploying, and supporting large scale VMware environments (vSphere 8+, NSX T, vSAN).
• Demonstrated experience migrating legacy VMware sites to VMware Cloud Foundation 9 or newer cloud native stacks.
• Strong automation background – expert level use of PowerCLI, vRealize Automation (vRA), Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell/Python scripting.
• Hands on experience with the Aria Operations suite (formerly vRealize Operations), VRLI, and VRNI for log analytics and network insight.
• Solid understanding of enterprise storage (EMC/Isilon, Pure Storage, Dell/NetApp SAN, iSCSI),
• Deep networking knowledge – TCP/IP fundamentals, VLANs, routing, and NSX T concepts (micro segmentation, distributed firewalls).
• Experience applying AI ops concepts: predictive monitoring, automated RCA, LLM driven chat ops, and intelligent capacity forecasting.
• Proven track record of cost optimisation (rights sizing VMs, leveraging spot/ephemeral instances, improving TCO).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence senior stakeholders and Strong project management skills focused on outcome based results (Agile/ITIL preferred).
